The All Poetry Competition Suspended, April 2015

The All Poetry Competition has been suspended until further notice. The Kitchen Table Poets, Shoalhaven thank all those who have participated so enthusiastically for the past ten years. We hope we have helped poets through comment and look forward to doing so again in the future.

Kitchen Table Poets, with the assistance of a CASP grant, will hold a two-day poetry masterclass with well-known teacher Deb Westbury. This workshop offers the opportunity for experienced poets to further develop their writing.

Limited places available, the subsidised fee of $100 covers both days, including morning and afternoon tea, BYO lunch.

A competition for all genres of original, unpublished poetry, 14- 40 lines written in English.and poem(s) not to have won a cash prize in any other competition. Send two copies of each poem. First Prize:$ 200. Second Prize:$100 Third prize $60. Winners to receive a copy of Tangents, poetry by The Kitchen Table Poets, cover drawing by Robert Dickerson.

Entry Fee $7.50 per poem. Cheques or money orders made out to All Poetry. No author name on ms. Please use a cover sheet showing name of author and poem, address, phone, (e-mail.) Feedback comments will be forwarded to thirty or more entrants . Include ssae for this and results (optional.)

Poems from the South Coast

In association with the current Lloyd Rees exhibition, Works from the South Coast, the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre will host a poetry reading featuring the Kitchen Table Poets.

Shoalhaven Stories

As part of the Shoalhaven Stories project at the Shoalhaven Arts Centre, Chere Le Page and Colleen Duncan held a workshop for participants to write their ‘Shoalhaven Stories’ in poetry.


River Readings

On 22 September, the Kitchen Table Poets, in conjunction with Bundanon Trust, the South Coast Writers’ Centre and Shoalhaven FAW, presented River Readings at Riversdale with guest poets Les Murray and Chris Mansell. Chere Le Page was the brilliant MC for the event.

Also reading on the day were Kitchen Table Poets Irene Wilkie, Kate Broadhurst, Elaine Chin, Colleen Duncan, Jennifer Dickerson, Chere Le Page, Alison Thompson and Lyn Kluewer.
